In the spring of 2027, Hannan Abu-Hussein, together with curator Ronit Eden, will be based in Athens at the SIC Center as part of a residency. During their stay, they will develop and produce most of the artworks presented here for this exhibition. The residency will focus on researching traditions and practices associated with the evil eye, with particular attention to the diverse uses and meanings of henna within communities across the city. The outcomes of this research will become an integral part of the exhibition.
