A woman is laying on fabric, surrounded by pastoral nature. She is dressed and in the center of the art work, unlike the woman in Édouard Manet's Le Déjeuner sur l'herbe. In Manet’s painting the naked woman stares at the viewer, mocking the bourgeoisie’s self-satisfied way of life . In her art work here, Amira Zeyan’s protest is more subtle; the central figure turns her back to us, shifting our attention from her to the landscape which is dirty with junk and garbage plastic bags. A pastoral nature which could be heaven on earth.
