Asya Lukin

For this painting, Lukin located her easel on one of Jerusalem's roofs. She chose a specific spot and a specific time of the day with almost no shadows, underneath the bright sun.

In most of her works, people play the main role. In this painting, however, the dense city is the protagonist. The changing colors, the mix of the buildings' style and the heat that comes out of the roofs and the walls melts all of them together into the city's own style.
