Less than twenty-six seconds are needed to pluck off the petals and tear the flower into pieces. The same hands that tore apart, try to reunite the broken heart; but their intention is undoubtedly evil.
It is clear from the moment of sewing that the flower will never be what it used to. The clean and innocent line in the video work is momentarily misleading. For a moment, the artist seems to offer a possibility of recovery, of reconnection. However, the seam will never heal the wound.
Mahajena illustrates a bodily injury with this gentle and purified work. Similar to female genital mutilation, whose sole cause is to oppress or harm.
