Oran Hoffmann
Plasticity, Chromogenic Print, 64 x 80 cm, 2010
In Oran's work, hard surfaces are placed together, representing various materials, forming a distorted landscape for the curved vase. Sometimes memories are a sequence of images, bound together at a certain moment in time, perhaps like this work by Oran Hoffmann: On the left, a piece of blue impossible blank sky peeks out.
It opens a window to the outside and marks the horizon beneath. Alongside it are pieces of laminated Formica with artificial wood, and together they form a representation of nature. A clay pot hovers above it, eternally pouring.
