Blind Love (detail), Pastel chalk on canvas, 80X100 cm, 2014
A turquoise line traces two figures, with patches of color that blend from one to the other, tying these lovers together. It is not clear if the hand holding the flower is his or hers. In Yair’s painting, love is blind and the lovers are blindfolded.
Perhaps they no longer need to see one another, having slowly dissolved into the background colour, immersed in their love.
