Nelly’s Locket (work in progress)

"Nelly's Locket" consists of a combination of movement, text, visual materials and sound. All these disciplines together form the fundamental  for a compositional journey that takes place on a stage and is witnessed by the spectators.
It is a tangible memory of historical events and those who survived and those who were sent to their deaths. The stories the locket holds are testimony to the long lineage of a Jewish family in Holland. It is a testament of a time when Jews (believed they) were an embedded part of Dutch society and, therefore not in danger. Like Simon and her Partia Wolf, whose pictures are in the locket.
