12th Sep 2013, A studio visit in Amsterdam

I was visiting Andrei Roiter in his Amsterdam studio. He told about his source of inspiration and how he combines  the classical way he learned  to work with contemporary media. He explained in detail the way he likes to work with different materials: to cast them , to create sculptures with them, and to make drawings  that show the changing texture.  I was most fascinated by the shelves  at the back of the studio covered with small sketches and ideas for the coming works. This small scale shows the various  materials  and the ideas of the artist.
