Manifesta 9 in Genk, Belgium. A city just across the Dutch border, a different place, a different world. Igor Grubic photographs of mine workers in a moment of rest. They have faces of angels that saw too much.  With their work in the mines, they used to supply us with coal for heat and light. When you look at the one in this photo you see how high the price was he paid. The artist gives them honor, a pair of wings, to have something they never received in their lifetime.
