In her exhibition: Reading the River, Basia Irland shows different backpacks which she creates for each river she visits. Like a shaman, she carries with all the tools she needs to find the spirits and the ghosts that have existed there for years. She, as the artist/the shaman, is the only one that can find her way through the rivers, she is the one who can bring the messages from the other world to this one.
