This week was the opening of The Paper Biennial in Museum Meermanno The Hague.   A place which tries to keep the glory of the book.  I was curious aboutthe work of Alicia Martin: Is the building “throwing up” paper, “vomiting” books that people don’t want anymore or is the building trying, without success to “swallow” all the books that people don’t want anymore? This is what makes the work intriguing: seems that the books are stuck there in the window of the building, in between the two: cannot throw up and cannot swallow what people are trying to get rid of.
