One of the most known pieces of Caspar David Driedrich. After a walk in the city, I ended up standing in front of this painting, observing the impossible landscape together with the figure in the center. In fact, it is almost clear that this landscape exist in the wild mind of the painter. That’s maybe one of the reasons, why we don’t see the face and the expression of the figure in the picture.
