In the significant exhibition 'The Stedelijk Museum and the Second WW', this work presents the tragedy of the war. This painting, from the museum collection, was lent to Nazi leaders stationed in Amsterdam to decorate their walls. What makes it tragic is the fact that the painter, Else Berg, was murdered in Auschiwitz two years earlier by the Nazis.
